How to use every part

Follow the printed order the first few times. Once the flow feels familiar, use the parts that are most useful that day.

  1. Owner fields

    Write the student’s name, instrument, and teacher inside the front ownership area.

  2. Lesson details

    At the top of each page, add the date, lesson number, and teacher.

  3. Lesson Log

    Record what was covered, the assigned pieces, reminders, tempo notes, or fingering details.

  4. This Week's Goal

    Write one goal in the separate panel and use one large star for each day Monday through Sunday.

  5. Music space

    Use the four evenly spaced staff systems for short melodies, rhythm examples, fingering, or lesson corrections.

  6. Number the five assignments

    On the facing Weekly Practice page, match assignment numbers 1-5 to the teacher's five written tasks.

  7. Mark each repetition

    Each numbered row has ten symbols for every day. Across five assignments and seven days, one cycle provides 350 possible practice marks.

  8. Circle satisfaction

    After each day's practice, circle hard, okay, or great. This records experience without turning it into a grade.

  9. Learn the music word

    Read the short music term and definition at the bottom of the weekly page.

  10. Repeat each cycle

    Start the next facing-page cycle after a new lesson so assignments, repetitions, satisfaction, and notation stay together.

Open the book during the lesson or immediately afterward while instructions are still clear.
