The F Book

Mixed-feeling awareness & regulation

Turn a hard-to-name mix of feelings into one clear, manageable next step.

Feelings can arrive together: upset and relieved, excited and worried. The F Book helps you name what you feel, choose something that may help, and look back at what happened.

Purchase guidance is paused while The F Book is being revised. The current Amazon paperback has 182 pages; a 120-page revision is planned, not yet published.

The idea behind this book

How does The F Book build metacognition?

Metacognition also includes noticing the feelings and conditions that shape a response. The goal is not to label one feeling as good or bad, but to see what is happening before choosing what to do.

How The M Book practices it
The F Book helps you notice mixed feelings, find what stands out, name what may help, try one response, and look back at what actually happened.
What this book does not claim
It is a guided emotional-awareness and reflection tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace professional mental-health care.

REVIEW FILE

120-page revision planned

A 120-page physical revision is planned but has not been published. The existing Amazon edition remains 182 pages; do not mistake it for the planned revision.

Size, page count, and price belong to the exact edition shown. A review file or planned edition is not the book supplied by an existing Amazon purchase link.

Before you buy

See whether this page fits your routine.

Use these three checks to choose by purpose, not only by the cover.

A good fit for

  • People who often feel more than one thing at the same time
  • Teens and adults building a clearer emotional vocabulary
  • Anyone who wants a calm paper pause before responding

Reach for it when

  • After a confusing or emotionally charged moment
  • When something feels wrong but the feeling is hard to name
  • Before choosing how to respond, ask for help, or take a break

What the printed book gives you

  • A guided mixed-feeling check instead of one forced answer
  • A practical Try → Check → Learn cycle
  • A record of which responses actually helped over time

How it works

A clear purpose for every part.

Use one two-page entry for a moment, activity, thought, or part of the day. The F Book differs most on page one: it helps you sort mixed feelings before choosing a response. Page two then uses a try-and-look-back learning cycle.

Choose this book when
Choose F when several feelings are true at once, the emotion is hard to name, or you need to find what stands out before deciding what may help.
How it differs
F begins with mixed-feeling sorting. It shares the later Try → Look Back review cycle with The M Book, but its starting work is emotional clarity and regulation.

How to use every part

Follow the printed order the first few times. Once the flow feels familiar, use the parts that are most useful that day.

  1. Choose a topic

Name the moment or part of your day you want to understand. It can be small.

  2. Notice every feeling

Mark every feeling that fits. Mixed feelings are allowed, so do not force one answer.

  3. Find what stands out

Write the strongest feeling and rate how intense it feels right now.

  4. Check what feels possible

Mark whether you need a pause, can try one step, or feel ready to move forward.

  5. Name what might help

Choose the need that fits: calm, understanding, a restart, help, a break, or your own answer.

  6. Choose one or two responses

Pick a practical action to try. More choices are not always more helpful.

  7. Predict the result

Before acting, estimate how much the response may help.

  8. Record what you tried

On page two, write the response you actually chose.

  9. Make the plan concrete

Write the first step, the next step, what to do if needed, and who could help.

  10. Look at the real result

Rate what actually happened and add a short factual summary.

  11. Compare with your guess

Notice whether the result was close to your prediction or different.

  12. Check the fit

Decide whether this response worked for you, partly worked, or needs replacing.

  13. Choose what comes next

Keep the method, adjust it slightly, or try a different way next time.

  14. Write freely

Use the final space for anything that did not fit the checkboxes or short prompts.

A simple routine

Use it without making it another chore

About 10-15 minutes. Stop when the useful thought is clear; completing every line is never the goal.

01

Before you write

Choose one specific moment, session, task, or thought instead of reviewing everything at once.

02

While you write

Follow the printed order. Short, truthful answers are more useful than filling every line.

03

After you write

End by naming one thing you understand better and one useful next step or reminder.

Helpful note

You do not need to fill every line. Honest marks and a few clear words are enough to reveal a pattern over time.
